I have the DS1513+ DSM 5.2 and the latest version and it isn't easy to setup cameras, user interface is poor. There are dedicated DVRs on the market that are far less expensive and much higher quality product than synology Surveillance Station. Synology Surveillance Station is a home / small business solution at best. And the ones that do are Commercial / enterprise class systems.

= can double the cost / camera There are few NVRs that license by the camera. Rated 1 out of 5 by T2-Texas from RIP OFF! I was a real fan of Synology, but I'm starting to re-think that. I refuse to buy something both unexpected and excessive. If the fee was reasonable, I wouldn't mind so much, but it's excessive. The license is more than I spent on the camera! Surveillance Station works well and I thought I had purchased it when I bought my NAS, but I guess I only purchased part of it. The catch here is 2 cameras are included but the third one will cost you. Why can't anyone just sell you something that's complete and works? There's always more to the story. The NAS determines how many cameras are licensed for the Surveillance software. They replied that the license is tied to the NAS and not the camera. Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Expensive, but needed Before purchasing this 4-pack license from B&H, I contacted Synology asking if these licenses were tied to a specific camera because I was going to swap out lower quality cameras in the future. Synology surveillance station license generator. An installation wizard will guide you through adding device licenses into Surveillance Station. Click here to see a comparison between the FED and the Zorki. If amazon itself sold me a fake license, synology.

Both cameras underwent many changes during its production run. Even FED and Zorki had differences in styling. The real Leica is on the left, and on the right is a real Zorki hidden beneath black enamel and Leitz markings. Details like parts and engraving styles reveal what the cameras really are beneath the rebadging. Side-by-side, the differences between a real Leica and a fake one (or a fake Zorki and a real one?-depending on where one stands) are easy to spot. It’s also easy to tell a real Elmar from an Industar made up to look like an Elmar. The tag seen on the Zorki base plate is an identification sticker which I put on all of my cameras. Leica had a film loading diagram attached on the base plate (or the shutter crate cover on later models). The model III has strap lugs and an extra slow speed shutter dial on the front panel. This Leica is really a model III, but its styling is very similar to the Leica II. The VF front bezel has a curved shaped around the RF adjustment cover screw. Models IIIc and later had a slightly larger collar which allowed the cable release to be threaded around the button without removal of the collar. Its collar was removable to accommodate a cup-shaped cable release since the button wasn’t threaded. The early shutter button of the Leica was small and elegant-looking. On the other hand, equivalent parts on a real Leica look like these: The viewfinder bezel on the front part of the Zorki and FED viewfinder is squared off and flat. This would identify the camera as a Zorki or even a FED more than any other part in the camera. Soviet Leicas used fixed tips which varied in shape from oblong to tear shaped to the familiar wedge shaped sensors found in all Zorki and many FED. The most significant difference I believe is the RF sensor which these cameras used. Early FED did have shutter buttons similar to Leica’s. The threaded shutter release with a flaring collar was never found on any Leica II or any LTM Leica for that matter. These three of several features are unique to FED and Zorki. Zorki and FED after all were 99% identical to the Leica II. It had been a chrome-finished Zorki once.

Even its serial number (№ 308291) would identify it as a Leica II, according to the Leitz serial number lists. So how does one tell a real Leica from a Look-a-Leica? These modified cameras may look good, but they often function very poorly. They are curios which should interest collectors more than user-collectors. I think that it’s a shame that many good FED and Zorki have to be mutilated to become fake Leicas. Some look ridiculous, some look well-made and can even pass off as real Leica to the less initiated.

Many FED and Zorki have been transformed by skilled craftsmen in the Ukraine and Russia.
